The Restle Home is named after Bernadine Restle, a parent and advocate for people with disabilities. The home was opened in September 1979. It was one of the first three homes opened which helped bring loved ones back to Wood County.
The home’s motto is “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”
They believe that no matter the task or obstacle, they will always keep going and find the positive in the situation.
Change has been a common theme for the Restle Home since 2007. Four new residents have joined the Restle home, providing youth and energy to the home. The Restle home is also very excited about the recent graduation of two of the young men of the home from the Woodlane School. Everyone had a great time celebrating this great accomplishment with both of them. Currently everyone is looking forward to spring and warm weather. Once warm weather hits we will all be out walking and riding bikes on the trail. We are all looking forward to spending some time sitting out in the yard and enjoying the beautiful days in the sun.
