Respite and Extended Day Services

An extended day care service is now offered for students who attend Wood Lane School and for students who attend the Wood County Educational Service Center’s autism classes that are held at Wood Lane School. The program is designed to follow the Wood Lane’s School and Day Camp calendar.

Times of the program will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day that school is scheduled. The before and after school program will not be in session on days that Wood Lane School is not scheduled to be in session. This includes in-service days or scheduled holidays, breaks, and parent/teacher conferencese.

The program is designed to give families more options and also the knowledge that their child will be cared for by trained staff. Staffing will be provided through Wood Lane Residential, Inc. WLRS, Inc. will hire, train, and supervise all staff connected with the program.

The program philosophy is that all children need a friendly, relaxing place to spend their time after school. It can be used on a regular or occasional basis. Family Support Services (formerly Family Resource Services), a state supplemental fund, may be used to cover the cost of participation for qualifying families. The maximum cost to a family will be $4.00 per hour.


Short Term Respite Care is now available at a home in Bowling Green. This 24 hour staffed program is designed to give families more options and also the knowledge that their child will be cared for by trained staff. Staffing will be provided through Wood Lane Residential Services, Inc. WLRS, Inc. will hire, train, and supervise all staff connected with the program.

This program could be used as an overnight retreat, for preplanned family vacations or accessed due to family emergency needs. Healthy meals incorporating specialized diets, community activities, as well as on call nursing services are provided.
