The Meach home is located in Bowling Green. It is licensed by the Ohio
Department of DD and is owned by Wood County Board of DD. Four
men have lived her since opening in 1987. The location has changed and
the home was named Orval Meach on January 16, 1991.
This home was one of
the first “4-bed” homes opened. Prior to this each of the homes
had 8-10 people. The men at the Meach home enjoy the area they live
in. They are close to City Park and Conneaut hill and enjoy summer
picnics and winter sledding. This last year, they adopted a cat from the
Humane Society. This has been a great addition to their home.
Each
year the guys at participate in a Walk for Diabetes. They spend time raising
money and have raised over $3500 for four years in a row.
