The McVey home is located outside of Bowling Green giving the 2 men who live here the opportunity to enjoy "country living". The home was opened in 1997 to satisfy this desire for "country living." The home is owned by Wood Lane Residential Properties and both men have an IO waiver.
Doug McVey's professional career has been dedicated to the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. He was the Wood County Board of DD Superintendent from 1976-1998. Doug was instrumental in seeing that individuals in state institutions were afforded the right and opportunity to live in their home county. For his vision and leadership WLRS dedicated this home in his honor.
The home boosts that they are "country living at it's best!". They enjoy the benefits of this type of setting. The quietness, access to gardening and the retreat away from the chaos of the city are just a few assets.
