(Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded)
- Homes range from 8-10 people.
- ICFMR is licensed by the ODMRDD, to be operated by a specific provider at a specific location.
- The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) yearly certifies an ICFMR.
- The provider is responsible for all aspects of care for the individual, including financial, transportation, habilitation and medical.
- The money stays with the home and does not follow the person.
- Level of Care is done upon admission. The individual must be Medicaid eligible, have an MR diagnosis and require continuous active treatment.
- There is currently no expansion in this area; we only maintain the existing ICF/MR facilities.
