Ellen Williams Home

The Williams Home, formally named the Weston Home, is located in Weston, OH. In May 2010 the home was dedicated after Ellen Williams. Ellen Williams currently serves on the Wood Lane Residential Services Board and has served on Wood Lane Boards for over 30 years. She recently retired from BGSU as a professor in intervention services. Her service at the University has literally impacted thousands of future professionals in special education.

Four men and women with IO waivers have lived here since 2003. When asked what best describes them, they said, “Fun and enjoyable to be around". They like to celebrate holidays and birthdays as a family and with other residents from other homes.

The men and women at Weston are competitively employed. They all work hard and are valued employees. Their location has been beneficial to them in many ways. They can enjoy the quiet, country-like living, yet they are not too far from the advantages of Bowling Green.

The men and women living here are proud of helping out in their community. Their biggest accomplishment was serving as a foster home for a cat from the Humane Society. They also, every year, like to participate in a Christmas Card drive for men and women in the armed forces.

Over the next year they look forward to planning a vacation trip to Amish Country and to go to the beach in the summer (which is an annual trip for them).

Over the next year, they will welcome a new resident to their home. They look forward to getting to know each other and create new memories.
