This house has been home to 8 men since February 1981. The Wood County Board of DD owns this home and Wood Lane Residential Services, inc. provides services to the men. The home was dedicated to Dwight R Miller on November 1, 1981. Dwight Miller was a BGSU special education faculty member and served on the 169 Board with Wood County Board of DD. This home is rich with history. The obvious Victorian structure and beauty of the building as well as the prime location make it stand out as an icon of history. At one point in history, the home served as the Wood County Hospital. If the walls could talk, the stories they could tell about Wood County History!!
The 8 men living in the home live by the motto: “Have Fun”. You will laugh and smile every time you come to visit. All 8 men are trying to achieve the same goal: Independence. If you like being on the go, this is the house for you. Between Special Olympics, Rec Department activities, and individual requests, something is going on every night!! Located in downtown Bowling Green, DMFH is within walking distance of several great locations including the Wood County Library, Ben Franklin Craft store and Grounds for Thought to name a few.
